Last week I got the chance to partake in something a little different, I was recently approached by a company called ‘TRUST’ who work with Raising awareness about the need for strong health and safety laws within workers rights. This event was to raise awareness for International Workers’ Memorial Day.
I was asked to photograph the event at the ATU shopping centre Derby, the trust had a large scale 3d print that the public could interact with and post images on social media to help raise awareness. It attracted a lot of attention from the public which was great! I was asked to do a few hours photography to document the day so the images can be used on their facebook page, magazine and their newsletter.
I had a great day and loved doing something different, it was also nice to meet so many lovely people that work for the trust. I have been asked to work on future events for the trust, and have been booked in for the next one in July. I look forward to working for them again.
Here are some of the images from the day:
Yesterday I had another shoot using my new portable studio service, A Brother and Sister shoot with 1 year old Theo and 3 year old Rosie were models for the day and we had a great time. Here a few previews:
I will post more from their session once I have given the finish album to the client.
Today I had my first mobile studio service! I had a booking for a first birthday cake smash with Mirabelle. The shoot went really well and I am really happy with the images. By posting them on social media I now have another booking for my portable studio for the following Saturday!
Some shots from today..

I have been following Lisas work for awhile now on social media and have always seen her work as one I aspire towards. Both her studio & outdoor portraits are stunning and I love the quality in here images.
Lisa has recently got training to do newborn photography which is something I am interested in doing in the future. Her portfolio offers various different props, poses and backdrops which makes her portfolio look great as it shows she has alot of choice for the client to acheive the look/style of images they want.
Her outdoor portaits of childen and familes have a natural feel to them, in both the poses of the subject but also the colours and depth in her images. Her images are unique to her and I recongnise her work when I see it. Not only that Lisa is regulary undating her website and other social platforms which I feel is so imortant and makes a photographer business look so much more professional!
“My service is special, I provide styling, I bring in the elements of the outdoors, I use the natural gifts available from Mother Nature, flowers, leaves, twigs and berries can all be incorporated into your shoot inspired by the seasons. I also provide beautiful vintage style dresses for little girls who just love to dress up! We will, of course have a good chat about this before our shoot. My shoots are completed with love and dedicated to you and your children. Your session will be for you, about you and will match your personality.”
Another great thing about Lisas work is her website, it is so easy to use, everything is clear and easy to read and her images are displayed beautifully. Inparticular I really like what she has done with her pricing page and its the easiest and clearest Ive ever come across, the different packages are layed out in sperate boxes desplaying what is on offer of each package and her website even lets you book in with her directly through the website.
I am so happy to now say I have expanded my portraiture services and have now got the facilities to offer studio sessions for children. This is a massive step for me, as in the past I have always had to do my portrait and family shoots outdoors, so it is so nice now to have the option to offer my clients a studio shoot as well.
This is just the beginning for me, I wish to expand this further by adding more option of backdrops, props and also wish to attend newborn photography courses as I think the mobile service would appeal to new parents who would prefer me to come to the comfort of their own home.
The response for this on social media so far has been great and I have gotten more traffic on my website and new likes and shares on my business facebook page.
Today I sat at my desk with every intention of organising myself for everything that has to be done over the coming week with ordering my book and organising prints for exhibition. None of that went to plan.. I got carried away updating my website, which then took all day… Ooops!
However, It did need doing! I have had an incomplete about me page for about 6 months now so am glad I finally got that completed even though I hate writing about myself. I think it’s about up to date now, however, I will have some more work to do on it once I receive my wedding album in order to try and promote them.
Although it’s not what I had planned for today, still a productive day!

For awhile now I have been getting interests for baby shoots in a studio. I have for a while now wanted to move my business forward to offer studio portraits as well as the outdoor shoots I do. So tonight I took that step and ordered several backdrops for some upcoming shoots I have booked in.
These are the backdrops and floor I ordered!
